Summary:

[Siren Classic ManLove: Erotic Alternative Romance, M/M, sex toys, HEA]

Insightful to a fault, Gabe Ashton knows Nick Flynn’s gay even if Nick doesn’t. And after seeing how the townie looks at his “buddy,” Gabe knows Nick is in love with a guy who’ll never love him back. So Gabe invites Nick to campus parties and to hang out with new people. But soon their friendship turns physical, and Gabe wonders if he’s in just as much denial as Nick is.

Nick’s straight—or so he’s always assumed. But he can’t deny that the things he’s doing with Gabe are hot. More than that, he likes Gabe in a way he’s never liked anyone else. Well, anyone else except his high school friend, John.

The hardest thing to give up is a fantasy, and the hardest thing to face is the truth. But if Nick wants the man standing in front of him, he’ll have to give up the one he never had.

A Siren Erotic Romance

The Review:

The third installment of Men of Holsum College series by Daisy Harris is a lighter read than the previous two stories in the series. Townie and the Twink is an engaging and scorching hot romance between Gabe Ashton and Nick Flynn.

Gabe Ashton is self-confident and quite comfortable with his sexuality. He has amazing insight and an uncanny ability to read the people around him. Although they are only casual acquaintances, he is fairly certain that Nick is gay. A chance meeting with Nick and his straight friend John confirms his suspicions. However Nick thinks of himself as straight and he is not aware that his feelings for John run just a little bit deeper than friendship.

Nick Flynn is new to Holsum College and still trying to find his niche. Between his commute to school, his job and classes, he has yet to form new friendships. He is quickly welcomed into Gabe’s circle of friends, but Nick is quick to point out that he is not gay. Even when he is incredibly turned on by Gabe and their relationship becomes sexual, Nick is still deep in denial about his sexuality.

Before their relationship can progress, Nick must deal with his feelings for John. Gabe is hurt by Nick’s feelings for John, and his jealousy forces Nick to finally deal with his attraction to the other man. Their meeting is a very eye opening experience for Nick.

While I enjoyed the story immensely, I had difficulty keeping up with the passage of time. The relationship seemed to happen very quickly and the “I love yous” were exchanged awfully fast. Nick had barely sorted out his emotions for John when he and Gabe decided to move in together and they were talking about being together forever.

The attraction between Nick and Gabe is sizzling hot. Their sexual relationship begins innocently enough with mutual masturbation. Nick’s wide-eyed wonder at oral sex is quite sexy and rather sweet. Their sexual experimentation culminates with them acting out a fantasy that is so incendiary your e-reader will be in danger of spontaneously combusting.

Daisy Harris does a wonderful job of keeping the Men of Holsum College series fresh and unique. Each book is distinct, with different issues facing each of the couples. The sex scenes are always plentiful, varied and deliciously steamy. The plotlines are compelling and for the most part, realistic. Easily one of my favorite series, I am eagerly anticipating the next novel in this charming series.

I already have “College Boys” on my must read list. Looks like there are two more I should add. Thank you, Kathy, for the review.
