Stick figure drawings freak my husband out
by Cassandra Carr

Thanks for having me here today, Kathy!

As you may (or may not) know, I write erotic romance. One of the subgenres I write is menage, like my recent release, Double Vision (Buffalo Intimidators bk 3). You can probably imagine some of the, er, logistical detail nightmares that can crop up when you’re trying to write sex scenes with three, four, or even more characters. I’ve only done up to four characters. More than that seems a little…excessive. And really hard to write.

How do I keep all these body parts in their proper alignment? A lot of ways, but one of them is to make stick figure drawings. I kid you not. Even stick figures can give me a good frame of reference for where each person is at a certain point in the scene, and sometimes that’s all I need to remember that my characters do need to, you know, obey the laws of gravity and such. Details, details…

Inevitably my husband sees some of my stick figure drawings. I still remember him rotating one piece of paper around and around, trying to figure out what was going on. I watched until I nearly burst a blood vessel trying not to laugh, and then turned it the right way and explained it. My explanation didn’t seem to help. He put the paper down, looked at me, and said, “That’s an awful lot of guys for one girl.”

I couldn’t disagree with that. Lucky bitch.

So now, every time my husband sees a collection of my stick figure drawings, he puts his hand over his face like he’s trying not to stare directly at the sun. I think I’ve permanently scarred him. Oops.

Does the thought of two or three or more guys excite you or freak you out? Tell me in the comments!

Title: Double Vision by Cassandra Carr
Buffalo Intimidators Book Three
Publisher: Siren-Bookstrand, Inc
Genre: Contemporary, Erotic, Romance, Menage M/F/M
Word Count: 34,477

Summary:

[Ménage Amour: Erotic Ménage a Trois Romance, M/F/M, HEA]

Everything Red Armstrong knew about relationships is called into question when he stumbles upon his roommate Fredrik Nieminen and his girlfriend Liz Langer going at it hot and heavy and Liz invites him to join them. Struggling with recovering from a knee injury, the young defenseman doesn’t know what to make of his attraction to Liz—after all, she’s his teammate’s woman, right?

As an older player, Fredrik’s been around the rink a time or ten, and he knows he has an awesome thing going with Liz. He envisions a future with her, but isn’t sure how their interludes with Red fit into the long-term picture.

Liz thinks Fredrik’s her forever-guy, but her sudden attraction to Red is causing doubts. The more they play together in the bedroom, the more their outside lives—and emotions—become entangled. When the unthinkable happens, all three must take a hard look at what they want and make some surprising decisions in the process.

I think 2 guys would be ok, 4 or more might be a little excessive. I mean , they’d have to take turns and one or two guys would tire a person out, so how could you possibly handle all those men?
    thanks for the giveaway.

I had the pleasure of meeting Cassandra this past weekend at Romanticon. I haven’t read her BK books but do love her bullriders series. That was a funny story with her husband and stick figures.

I was lucky enough to meet Cassandra this past weekend at Romanticon. She told us about her stick figure drawings at dinner. Quite a funny story. I haven’t read this series yet but have started the Buckin Bull riders series.
