Blog Tour Stop, Guest Post & Giveaway: Somebody’s Angel by Kallypso Masters

Q&A with Kallypso Masters

1. How difficult and/or relieving was if for you to revisit Marc and Angelina so they could get their happily ever after?

Marc has confounded me since they day he showed up in Nobody’s Angel. I actually wrote Nobody’s Angel two-and-a-half years before it was published. I got to know him better in Masters at Arms, and then returned to Angel to do major revisions to his book before it published in September 2011. But I still knew there was a huge chunk of intel missing on him.

I don’t do character sketches, so I only know what characters reveal to me, and he is a very closed-off man. So it’s a great relief to finally know what his issues are and to be able to help him find healing and peace at last!

2. When you write a story, do you write in order (story flow) or do you write in pieces and tie them together? I was curious as you blog from time to time about the characters speaking to you, so it made me think that sometimes you write ahead and come back to a story.

I write wherever the characters are revealing story to me—basically all over the place. They don’t tell me their stories in chronological order.

For Somebody’s Angel, I wanted to pick up the story at New Year’s weekend and I had already written many scenes for them before pulling their scenes out of Nobody’s Perfect. But it soon became clear to me that some of what I had tried to force to happen that weekend (to avoid bouncing back and forth after I discovered where Marc’s issues originated) that the breakdown in the relationship really occurred over time. I couldn’t show that as a subplot. Luckily I realized that before I published Nobody’s Perfect and tried to hint at some turning points for the couple in that book, such as how both of them looked a little haggard at Damian’s birthday. In Somebody’s Angel, readers will see what was happening with them around that time that left them looking haggard.

Sometimes I do actually write the ending last, too, as with Perfect. I spent three nerve-wracking months (beyond when the book was supposed to be released!) waiting for the “perfect” ending to come to me. I’m happy to report that the ending in Somebody’s Angel came to me much more easily and it, as well as the Epilogue, are in place.

Title: Somebody’s Angel by Kallypso Masters
Rescue Me Series Book Five
Publisher: Kallypso Masters
Genre: Contemporary, Erotic, Romance, BDSM

Summary:

When Marc d’Alessio first rescued the curvaceous and spirited Italian Angelina Giardano at the Masters at Arms Club, he never expected her to turn his safe controlled life upside down and pull at his long-broken heartstrings. Months later the intense fire of their attraction still rages but something holds him back from committing to her completely. Worse, secrets and memories from his past join forces to further complicate his relationships with family, friends, and his beautiful Angel.

Angelina cannot give all of herself to someone who hides himself from her. She loves Marc, the BDSM world he brought her into, and the way their bodies respond to one another but she needs more. Though she destroyed the wolf mask he once wore, only he can remove the mask he dons daily to hide his emotions. In a desperate attempt to break through his defenses and reclaim her connection to the man she loves, she attempts a full frontal assault that sends him into a fast retreat, leaving her nobody’s angel once again.

Marc finds that running to the mountains no longer gives him solace but instead leaves him empty and alone. Angelina is the one woman worth the risk of opening his heart. Will he risk everything to become the man she deserves and the man he wants to be?
