A Love and Football Novel
Publisher: HarperCollins
Imprint: Avon Impulse
Genre: Contemporary, Romance
Length: 496 pages

Summary:

All’s fair in Love and Football . . .

Emily Hamilton doesn’t trust men. She’s much more comfortable playing the romantic lead in front of a packed house onstage than in her own life. So when NFL star and alluring ladies’ man Brandon McKenna acts as her personal white knight, she has no illusions that he’ll stick around. However, a misunderstanding with the press throws them together in a fake engagement that yields unexpected (and breathtaking) benefits.

Every time Brandon calls her “Sugar,” Emily almost believes he’s playing for keeps—not just to score. Can she let down her defenses and get her own happily ever after?

Author Bio

Julie Brannagh has been writing since she was old enough to hold a pencil. She lives in a small town near Seattle, where she once served as a city council member and owned a yarn shop. She shares her home with a wonderful husband, two uncivilized Maine Coons and a rambunctious chocolate Lab.

Julie hasn’t quite achieved the goal of owning a pro football team, so she created a fictional one: The Seattle Sharks. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, or armchair-quarterbacking her favorite NFL team from the comfort of the family room couch. Julie is a Golden Heart finalist and the author of four contemporary sports romances.

I think its because they are on a pedestal and as such seem to be out of our league so reading about an everyday person catching the eye of a ‘superstar’ gives us hope it may happen!!

I love sports heroes in romance because its a different side to them, makes it easier to relate. Thanks for sharing.

I love sports heroes in romance novels because they are normally cocky and arrogant. I love watching them come around and realize it’s ok to love one woman.

    Sounds good.

I think we love sports heroes just because of our youth. We’re taught to make them bigger in some way.

I think we love sports heroes in romances because they hold the same status as celebrities. They have that certain unatainability factor that makes them even more desirable. They’re cocky and very much so the alpha male. But, with romances, we get to see a different side–the side they don’t want people to see on the field or whatever sport they are playing. I read the blurb for this book and it sounds very interesting and definitely something I would love to read! I’ve always wanted to go to Seattle, so books with Washington as the backdrop are always a plus!!

For the same reasons I love my football coach hubby… they are just plain awesome people! Goal oriented.. passionate…
