Blog Tour Stop, Interview & Contest: SE Jakes’ Dirty Deeds

Dirty Banner

It’s always a pleasure having SE Jakes drop in while she’s touring and I’m even more thrilled she took the time to answer a few “get to know me” questions for us.

Hey everyone!!! Thanks to Book Reviews & More by Kathy for having me back here for my Dirty Deeds blog tour 🙂 Dirty Deeds is the first in this spin-off series of Hell or High Water. Dirty Deeds focuses on Cillian and Mal, two characters who’ve been in both Hell or High Water books 1 & 2 (Catch A Ghost and Long Time Gone.) Dirty Deeds # 1 captures a very specific moment in time for the Cillian (the spook) and Mal (the former SEAL in exile).

Kathy: What book do you recommend everyone should read? Do you have a comfort read?

Ms. Jakes: I have several comfort reads 🙂 Rough Canvas by Joey W. Hill, Force of Law by Jez Morrow and Chasing Smoke by KA Mitchell are three I turn to all the time. As for what book I recommend to everyone? The Dirt (Motley Crue’s biography) – it’s the best bio I’ve ever read—even if you don’t love the band’s music, the way it’s written is so great. It’s hysterically funny and brutally honest (and at times, heartbreaking)…everyone I rec this to loves it.

Kathy: What is your guilty pleasure?

Ms. Jakes: I’m addicted to the Real Housewives shows. Especially RHONY, RHONJ and RHOBH. DON’T JUDGE ME!

Kathy: Favorite meal?

Ms. Jakes: From Peter Lugers in Brooklyn – amazing steakhouse. Everything from tomato and onion appetizer, to their steak that cuts like butter, German potatoes and the apple turnover with the homemade whipped cream…holy mother—you eat and you go home and sleep for days. If you’re in the New York City area, make a reservation and go. It’s worth it.

Kathy: If you weren’t a writer, what would you be?

Ms. Jakes: If I could sing, I’d be a rock star. I plan on taking electric guitar lessons while my son takes drum lessons so maybe I could still slide into a band somehow…

Kathy: If you could time travel, what time period would you visit?

Ms. Jakes: I’m kind of fascinated with the mid-to late sixties. And I’d like to follow the Grateful Dead.

Kathy: Great answers and I’m trying not to judge you on the whole Real Housewives thing (seriously???!!). And if you and your son ever go on tour, hopefully you’ll stop by my neck of the woods 😉 Thank you again for chatting with us today. Congratulations on the release of Dirty Deeds, and I am eagerly (and impatiently) awaiting the next installments of both the Dirty Deeds & Hell or High Water series!

dirtyTitle: Dirty Deeds by SE Jakes
Dirty Deeds Series Book One
Publisher: Riptide Publishing
Genre: Contemporary, Erotic, M/M, Romance, BDSM, Suspense
Length: 94 pages/Word Count: 21,000

Summary:

Two seasoned operatives finally meet their match: each other.

Cillian works for the mysterious Special Branch 20: an organization that runs black ops commissioned by the British government. His specialty is deep undercover assignments with virtually no support. He’s been alone for so long that he no longer knows anything else.

Mal’s also used to being alone. Wanted in several states and even more countries, he’s not allowed in the vicinity of any of his former Navy SEAL teammates. And his current assignment is to track Cillian in order to discover the spook’s endgame. Except he’s no longer sure which one of them is getting played.

Cillian isn’t about to let the mission that’s consumed him for the past several years crumble because an outsider is poking around where he doesn’t belong. But Mal forces his way through Cillian’s defenses—and into his heart—exposing a devastating betrayal that could destroy them both.
