Tour Stop & Giveaway: Triumph by Kate Pearce

triumph ban

Three is a very important number for a lot of civilizations and religions and it also works well for books and movies—(unless we’re discussing the Alien movies when they should have stopped at two because the third one? So depressing… I’m not even going to talk about the fourth.). I think we all like that structure of a beginning, a middle, and an end.

In the Tribute series you get the idea that the books all hang together just from the titles-Sacrifice,(Sept) Retribution, (Oct) and Triumph, which has just come out. There’s a journey here-from innocence, to darkness, and to some kind of salvation. I wrote the three parts to stand as one, and I know a lot of readers like to know when a series is complete before they will even start reading it. This one is complete. If I ever write in this world again, it will be a whole new adventure.

In Triumph we get to meet the four main characters from the first two books again. They are working together to defeat their common enemy while attempting to save their planet from aliens and their own government. In the same way that the middle part, Retribution was the darkest book, Triumph is where things get resolved—one way or another.

Of course, the characters are also continuing to develop their sometimes-difficult relationships as couples, and lovers, and friends. Sex for these survivors is never going to be lovey-dovey and easy. Dealing with the emotions that come with sex is even more complicated, but I hope that by the end of the third book you’ll see that love—even in the most terrible and dangerous of circumstances really can triumph.

Do you like to read complete series or do you take a chance and hope the whole lot get written?

Tribute Series Book Three

Summary:

Rehz Akran has had enough of the Tribute program and its sadistic overseer, Palk. When Palk captures Rehz’s mate, Anna Lee, and offers her and Aled Price to the Ungrich for further research, Rehz is ready for rebellion. But first, with the help of Kai Mexr—who wants Aled back just as much as Rehz wants Anna—he must break into the Ungrich world, rescue Anna, and discover why they want her so badly.

The chilling answer to that question lies in Anna’s forgotten origins—origins that Aled shares. To save their lovers, Rehz and Kai must take on Palk and a government that is more than willing to sacrifice Anna and Aled to keep the peace.

The two couples join forces—in more ways than one—and together they discover that they may be capable of defeating two civilizations and changing the course of Mitan history forever.

It depends for me. If I’m hooked on the first book, I’ll certainly read as it goes! If I’m unsure about the premise or if it’ll bother me, sometimes I wait for a series to conclude first…

I love finding complete series that way I don’t have to wait but I do read series that aren’t complete so my answer is both!

I personally like reading whole series. I will on the off chance buy a book half way through the series to read and if I enjoy it then start from scratch… (that’s how I discovered LK Hamilton and Sherrilyn Kenyon).
If I start from the beginning and discover a series and I really like the first I will immediately buy the next as they are released or loose control and just buy the whole series outright if they’re already released (I’ve done that several times such as with KJ Charles Jordan L Hawk).
    ;D
This sounds like it could be a great read so I’m going to have a look at the previous books later (more to add to my TBR pile) ;D

And another fantastic competition! Count me in! ;D
