April Reading Challenge Discussion

Time to check in and see how everyone did with April’s Reading Challenge to read a book from your TBR!

My selection was Aaron Bradley, Closet Detective by Timothy Owen.

I am happy to report that I successfully completed the challenge!

I liked the main characters and their romance but the rest of the book was just a little over the top for me. I also liked that the plot had some interesting twists that I didn’t see coming. I ended up giving it 3 stars so it was pretty much an average read for me.

Now it’s your turn! Did you complete your challenge? Did you like the book you choose?

    Hi Kathy!
I read Valentine’s Delight, a collection of short stories, based on Valentines day from new and established authors.
Well I enjoyed them all, each one short enough for a nice coffe break or lunch time reading treat!
The first 6 stories were from newer or less well known to me authors and feature lots of interesting meet-cutes. From being trapped in a lift to a coffee shop pun infested meet up and an accident prone flight attendant. A couple of cupid stories and one featuring angels which are not normally a favourite but actually I enjoyed the different take. Most I enjoyed and 2 were OK.
Then the four stories from the established British authors, including updates from two of my favourite series!
From Clare London we get a quick visit with Phiz and Bryan and see how Bryan puts his Valentine present to good use!
Jonty and Orlando from Charlie Cochrane’s Cambridge Fellows series have some valentine high jinks in the hallowed halls.
Sue Brown gives us a pignant fresh start for Jacob as Daniel comes crashing into his life.
And lastly, a visit to Jack and Riley in Texas! A quick Valentine’s trip away means making the most of alone time, and some permanent ink.
    So overall, enjoyed my read

How cool that some of the books were updates on series.

Hopefully you’ll read more books from the new to you authors.

Yes, I completed my challenge of reading Yours To Bare by Jessica Hawkins. I really enjoyed this slow burn romance.
