Black Friday Blog Hop & Contest

I confess: I HATE Black Friday. I have only shopped on Black Friday once and that was enough to keep me far, far away from stores on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Nope, there is no deal that will entice me into that type of shopping madness. Instead, I sit quietly at home enjoying the fact that my Christmas shopping was completed weeks ago when there was no danger of me losing life or limb in my pursuit of the perfect gift.

So, tell me: are you a Black Friday shopper, a planner like me who shops way ahead of time or are you a last minute, two hours before closing time Christmas Eve shopper? Leave your e-mail address to be entered in the drawing for the Grand Prizes (see below). Complete contest rules are below.

While the rest of the US is out handling the crowds, fighting for their holiday gifts, some of us like to stay in, shop online, or just ignore Black Friday all to together. This year, join us in our second annual Black Friday Blog Hop! It’s a ONE DAY hop where we’re giving away prizes, talking about books we love, and most likely eating left over turkey. πŸ™‚

The hop is November 23rd and is ONE DAY only.

And while we do that, we are EACH doing a giveaway. Yep. There will be over 200 giveaways on each blog hosted by that Author or Blogger.

But that’s not all….

We have THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. Yep, you can enter over 200 times!

Now what are those prizes?

1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet (International Entries Welcome)

2nd Grand Prize: A $75 Amazon or B&N Gift Card (International Entries Welcome)

3rd Grand Prize: A Swag Pack that contains paperbacks, ebooks, 50+ bookmarks, cover flats, magnets, pens, coffee cozies, and more (US ONLY)!

All my shopping is done on computer and sent out before or the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I don’t like crowds and frankly the people behave like animals and are just plain rude and ugly. I have never done it in the 40 years I have been on my own, or even when I lived at home.

  2. I’d go nuts if I had any shopping left to do on Christmas Eve! Well, the morning of Christmas Eve, since our biggest celebration and present-opening is on the Eve itself. No, I’ve usually finished almost all of my shopping way before December. As for Black Friday, we don’t have that here in Iceland.

I’m following you wherever I can and I get emails from this site.

It depends on the deals. Last year, I went. This year I didn’t see anything that great to get me out. Planning on doing more online shopping this year but I do like going in the stores off hours to see the decorations.

  6. I’m not in the US so Black Friday is not something I’m familiar with, but it sounds kind of scary. Stores full with people….noooo.
And I’m very much a planner and absolutely hate last minute shopping.

I am doing absolutely no black Friday shopping today. Staying home and vegging. I will probably pick up some ebooks, but I do that every day hehehe.

I’m not a Black Friday shopper mainly because of the huge crowds.

I don’t relish the idea of being trampled to death just to save ten bucks. πŸ™‚ So, I’m not setting foot in a store today. Might check out some online deals on books, though….

I’m not fond of crowds and tend to avoid them. Unless it’s a really, really good deal I may go earlier but other than that I’ll sleep in.

I am a planner, which means that I shop throughout the year for my gifts. I do most of my shopping on the internet. By the time Black Friday rolls around, I’m already sick of it because of the commercials! Have a great weekend!

I am definitely a Black Friday shopper. It’s not where I do the bulk of my shopping, but I usually spot one or two things in the ads that I just have to get. I love the hustle and bustle and the whole thrill-of-the-hunt thing, so I enjoy the experience.

I follow via Twitter (Jyl22075) and email. πŸ™‚

I do all my shopping online so I don’t have to deal with the crowds or the pushy, rude people. I am a planner, who starts shopping for the next Christmas and birthdays, the day after Christmas, so I’m usually done by Thanksgiving.

We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here I live, so no Black Friday for me either. But it must be fun to go shopping πŸ™‚

We don`t have Black Friday sales here (I`m an international reader), so I`m just attending giveaways like this one, lol.
    Thanks! πŸ™‚

I’m not a Black Friday shopper. I don’t believe that shopping should ever be a full contact sport. I spend the day baking cookies with my kiddos instead.

I’ve gone out on Black Fridays sales and may go out later today. Although, I don’t go out every year for Black Friday sales, since the lines and crowds are horridous.

  19. I like to get as much shopping done as I can before the crowds hit. I used to brave Black Friday with a friend but, I guess as we got older, we lost the “rush” that came with it. Crowds and parking lots. Ugh! Thanks for the giveaway opportunity. I’m following on Twitter and friended on GR. I’ll also hook up on FB.

I’m not a Black Friday shopper, or Red Tuesday, Pink Monday–no day is a shopping day. I usually buy gifts online. Shopping is exhausting, expensive, and demoralizing. Reading is much for fun! So I’m happy today.
