Friday Feature: Hunted by Emlyn Rees

Today’s Friday Feature is a blog tour stop by Emlyn Rees. Mr. Rees is on tour promoting his latest release, Hunted and today’s stop is part three of a four part interview (click HERE for the second stop).

Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way either growing up or as an adult?

As a child, I was obsessed with Lord of the Flies, and must have read it twenty times. I love the way such an engrossing story gets weaved out of such a sparse setting. As an adult, The Road by Cormac McCarthy blew me away. How something so brilliantly underwritten can pack such an emotional punch is little short of miraculous.

You’ve been given the task to host a last minute dinner party. Which authors are on your ultimate dinner invitation list? Alive or Dead.

Nobody serious. Not with food. I love cooking and entertaining, but most of all I like being with people who make me laugh. I’d have Larry David (screenwriters count too, yes), William Goldman and, of course, Douglas Adams.

If you could describe Hunted in 3 words what would they be?

Fast. Faster. Fastest.

If your book were made into a movie, who do you picture playing each characters part?

Hunted has been optioned by a film company and I was reading the screenplay that’s been written by director, Eric Styles, only last week. There are so many actors I think would be great in the role of Danny, but I still picture the same guy in my head that I did when I was writing – a kind of cross between Paul Newman and Vigo Mortenson: Pigo Newtenson.

Part 4 of the interview will be available HERE beginning Saturday October 5th.
