Title: Mindscape by Tal Valente
Publisher:Riptide Publishing
Genre: Sci-Fi, Futuristic, Romantic Elements, M/M
Length: 108 pages/Word count: 25,000

Summary:

The truth will set you free.

Mark Sayre joins the Interstellar Navy for the money—his only goal is to keep his little brother out of the colony mines that sent their father to an early grave. With concepts like duty and honor floating high over his head, he hardly expects to fall for the serious, idealistic Shane Cawley. Not to mention that Shane is his commanding officer . . . and his Resonance partner, a one-in-ten-thousand mental connection so profound that they can travel in each other’s mindscapes.

Shane Cawley is carrying on the family tradition by serving in the Interstellar Navy. He hardly expects to fall for the quirky, happy-go-lucky Mark Sayre. But as the Resonance between them grows, neither can deny what he feels for the other.

When war breaks out, Mark and Shane find their military training and their Resonance link tested to the edge of sanity. Shane is haunted by memories and flashbacks, and Mark becomes trapped in his own mindscape. But with help from an unlikely ally, they may be able to salvage their futures and the love they share.

Author Bio

Tal’s passion in life is building worlds, whether digital ones using programming languages, or literary ones using plain ol’ English.

When she’s not buried neck-deep in code, you can find her editing manuscripts, designing fantasy worlds, or torturing characters in her own original works.

You can get Tal going forever on her favorite subjects with a few well-placed words, such as “Babylon 5” and “Assassin’s Creed.” A word of caution, though: “forever” means just that . . .

  2. Christine LaCombe

I probably wouldn’t join because I don’t like fighting or war. Thanks for the giveaway. lacombejc @ suddenlink dot net

  3. Timitra

I’m not a huge fan of conflict so I wouldn’t join.

  4. Urbanista

I am too undisciplined and read too much to join the Spavy. Not to mention lazy. Happy New Year and thanks!

  5. Trix

The more I think about it, the more I have to admit that I’m not cut out for the military…

  6. Jen

I wouldn’t want to support war nor would I want to leave my family. So, no, I would not join Spavy. Rather stay at home and read. 😉

  7. SHELLEY S

NO I WOULDNT! THANKS FOR THE GIVEAWAY!

  8. Deb P

    No , military too busy.

  9. Nancy S

Nope, not me, huh uh. I like gravity too much; don’t like flying or tall buildings. Just consider me ground-bound.

  10. Calila

I question things too much to be a good soldier. I wouldn’t make it in the Spavy.

  11. Lisa G

Yes – I would be willing to fight for my freedom and my honor!

  12. H.B.

I don’t think I’ll last in the spavy. I’m just too lazy and I’ll rather do other things that won’t take as much effort.

  13. Penumbra

Probably not. I don’t like taking orders and besides I get bad motion sickness which means I’d probably make a mess of the spaceship.

  14. Gigi

The military is definitely not for me!

  15. Ashley E

I am a lover, not a fighter. 🙂 Or something. I can support freedom in other ways.

  16. Jbst

Not sure what my decision would be, couldn’t make it through the tough physical requirements though.

  17. So many answers and different opinions! Thank you all for sharing!
