Blog Tour Stop, Interview & Giveaway: The V-Unit by Max Vox

Please welcome Max Vos to Book Reviews & More by Kathy. For today’s stop on his virtual tour for The V-Unit, Mr.Vos graciously answered a few get to know you questions.

Kathy: What book do you recommend everyone should read? Do you have a comfort read?

I think I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelou should be required reading. Of course, most everything she has written is wonderful.

My comfort read? I was a Chef for many years, so as odd as it may sound; my comfort read(s) are cookbooks. I like used cookbooks. I prefer used ones with spatters and smudges with personal notes made in the margins. I treasure those.

Kathy: What is your guilty pleasure?

I have no guilt. I’m too old for that. I pretty much do whatever I damned well please. One of the best things about retirement!

Kathy: Favorite meal?

The best meal I think I ever had was when a favorite chef friend of mine, who works at the Four Seasons in Atlanta asked me to come and do a chef’s table. He was doing a trial run of a new menu so he wanted other foodies to try it first. It was an amazing mean and evening.

Not sure if everyone knows what a ‘chef’s table’ is, so I’ll explain. It is when a dining table is set up in the kitchen and the chef cooks right there in front of you. He more than likely will explain what it is he or she, is preparing.

That night will be forever in the top best things I’ve experienced, ever.

Kathy: If you weren’t a writer, what would you be?

Since writing is my second career, I have no clue as to what I’d be doing.

Kathy: If you could time travel, what time period would you visit?

I would truly love to experience the Old South around the 1850’s, pre-civil war. There was something special and romantic about that era. Candle lit dinners. Riding around in a horse drawn carriage at night with gas lamps draws me right in.

Of course, the men would be so very dapper. I guess I need to thank Anne Rice for that image.

Kathy: When time travel is finally here, I’ll be happy to journey to the Old South with you 😉

Thanks for chatting with us today and congratulations on your release.

Summary:

Only a select few in the human world knew of the existence of the V-Unit, a small group of highly trained Marines – who happened to be vampires. And it would have stayed that way. But when events in the vampire world, threatened the stability of the human world, the powers that be called for the unit’s specialized services. An intrepid war correspondent, Bronson Rudan, who’d seen more than his fair share of fighting, stumbles across the unit by accident, and is drawn into their world. Bronson has no problem with that, given that he gets to spend time with a hunky Marine Lieutenant, Sarge. Although he won’t remember any of this when they’re through. At least, that was the plan…
