Summary:

When you get time off for bad behavior, romance is the last thing on your mind–but good old-fashioned lust is a whole different story. . .

Life undercover isn’t exactly one big party–not when you’re a DEA agent–but it sure beats a desk job. Except when you screw up big and someone has to go in and clean up after you. In that case, even paper-pushing sounds better than babysitting an erotic romance writer with as many enemies as there are euphemisms for “throbbing manhood.”

I’ve been taking down drug dealers for so long, playing bodyguard to a woman named Shoshanna Lehump sounds like nothing more than a giant pain in my ass– and being partnered with the gorgeous egotistical jerk I never should have slept with in the first place just makes a bad situation even harder–especially when he pursues me as diligently as we’re supposed to be chasing the bad guys…What’s a girl have to do to get a happy ending anyway?

The Review:

Cop a Feel is another wacky romantic escapade in Robyn Peterman’s hysterical Handcuffs and Happily Ever After series. In this installment, a puzzling mystery reunites several of the characters from previous novels and Candace “Candy” Sanderson and the mysterious Luke Blakely find their happily ever while guarding erotic romance author Shoshana LeHump.

Still recovering from the wounds she received in her last case, Candy’s newest assignment finds her going undercover as Shoshana’s assistant. Candy is a hardnosed DEA agent who does not believe in love and she is less than thrilled with her latest assignment. Her enthusiasm wilts even further when she learns she will be attending an erotic romance convention with Shoshana and that she will have to don some very sexy costumes in her role as Shoshana’s assistant. But the biggest shock is when Candy discovers that her newest partner is none other than her ex-lover, Luke, and her greatest challenge is resisting the über sexy agent who is determined to win her heart.

As with the previous books in the Handcuffs and Happily Ever After series, the plot and characters are a little absurd but that is what makes reading Cop a Feel so much fun. However, underneath the silliness, there are some serious undertones as Candy and Luke put their hearts on the line and overcome the tragedies of their respective pasts. The characters are introspective and their astute observations help one another put things into perspective. The mystery element of the storyline is easy to figure out, but it is still enjoyable watching the various characters put all of the pieces of the puzzle together.

Robyn Peterman good-naturedly pokes fun at romance convention with some very outrageous situations that made me giggle uncontrollably. Hands down, the best scenes in the novel involve… twerking. Truly unforgettable and absolutely priceless twerking.

The pièce de résistance of Cop a Feel is the fabulous epilogue which perfectly wraps all of the various couples happily ever afters. I have loved every delightful installment of this crazy series and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a delightfully raunchy story that has plenty of humor, sizzling hot love scenes and a whole lot of heart.

Summary:

A few hard truths…Don’t bet on Hasselhoff, Bigfoot might actually exist, and searching for the impossible may lead you to your heart’s desire…

It’s a big fat hairy deal when I lose yet another bet to my best friend, Rena. Not only do I end up attending Bigfoot meetings with her kooky Aunt Phyllis, I find myself traveling with a band of reality TV, Sasquatch-hunting nut-jobs! Not to mention a suspiciously shady film crew. As if those little nuggets weren’t enough to send me on the express-train to Crazytown…I stupidly swore off men!

Clearly all this would mess up any gal’s social life, but the worst part of the story? The minute I send my libido on vacation, I meet Mitch. Yep, Mitch, the sexiest cop ev-ah. The hottest, best kissing, finest tushied, SINGLE guy I’ve ever laid eyes on. I’d rather be hot on his trail than anything that involves the word Big or Foot. But sometimes what you’re hunting for has been right in front of you all along …

The Review:

Robyn Peterman’s Size Matters is another outrageously zany caper that is just as over-the-top and hilarious as the first book in the Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters series, How Hard Can It Be?. In this outing, after losing a bet to her best friend, Rena, Kristy is forced to take Rena’s Aunt Phyllis to her Bigfoot meetings. When the group is chosen for a reality series, Kristy is selected as the (unwilling) host for the show and she, along with a several of the wacky yet lovable members, are off to Duluth to hunt for the big hairy beast.

Size Matters has a motley cast of characters that are lewd and crude but they each sport a heart of gold. Heading up this assorted group is Kristy and boy, is she in midst of a run of bad luck. Having her heart broken by her last cop boyfriend, she is giving dating a vacation when she meets Mitch, an amazingly gorgeous man who is keeping some secrets that might just spell trouble for their relationship.

Kristy has had atrocious luck with men and she is certainly entitled to a few trust issues, but her attraction to Mitch is impossible to resist. They have only just begun secretly (due to another bet with Rena) dating, when she learns he has not been completely truthful with her. The final nail in their relationship coffin is Mitch’s inability to tell her details about his super secret law enforcement job.

In the aftermath of another disastrous romance, the hunt for Bigfoot is looking pretty attractive to Kristy. Accompanying her on the reality show (mis)adventure: octogenarian sisters who have driven construction workers to tears, a nose breaking twenty something named Mariah Carey and her psychic sister Boo, the unattractive but kindhearted Rich and rounding out the list of looneytoons, Hugh and Kim, the leaders of the Bigfoot meetings. They enthusiastically embark on their search for Sasquatch, but their suspicions are soon aroused by the producers of the show. But the scariest thing for Kristy? The possibility that she is rethinking her position on Bigfoot’s existence and Mitch’s unexpected reappearance in her life.

The plot of Size Matters is ridiculous and silly but that is what makes it such a fun read. The dialogue is peppered with crude language that is humorous but it is also a little repetitious. The colorful cast of characters is likable and full of hidden depth. The romance between Mitch and Kristy is deliciously sexy and their sex scenes are scorching hot.

All in all, another delightfully enjoyable read by Robyn Peterman. I am definitely looking forward to the next madcap installment of the Handcuffs and Happily Ever Afters series!

Summary:

What happens when an accountant decides to grab life by the horns and try something new? Apparently a pirate named Dave, a lot of pastel fleece, and blackmail—just to start with…

Visualize and succeed, Oprah said. I was sure as hell trying, even if my campaign to score a job as the local weather girl had ended in a restraining order. Okay, TV was not my strength. But a lack of talent has never stopped me before. Which is why I’ve embarked on a writing career. I mean, how hard can it be to come up with a sexy romance?

Leave it to me to wind up in a group of porno writing grannies who discuss sex toys and apple cobbler in the same breath. Also leave it to me to leak an outlandish plot idea to a bestselling author with the morals of a rabid squirrel. And only I could get arrested for a jewelry heist I didn’t commit—by a hunky cop whose handcuffs just might tempt me to sign up for a life of crime. Maybe I’ve found my calling after all…

The Review:

Robyn Peterman’s debut novel, How Hard Can It Be? is an outrageously funny novel that will keep you laughing out loud as Rena Gunderschlict discovers that writing a romance novel is nowhere near as easy as she thinks.

Accountant Rena Gunderschlict is looking for a career change. Her attempt to become a weather girl ended with a restraining order, a few hours in jail and a spot on the local news. When she decides to try her hand at penning a best-selling romance novel, Rena joins a romance writers group where she meets four porno writing grannies. When she discover that best-selling romance author Evangeline O’Hara has been blackmailing the octogenarians and stealing their ideas, Rena comes up an outlandish plot to derail Evageline’s career and save her new friends from her evil clutches.

How Hard Can It Be? is an over the top and absolutely hilarious story. It is absurd and unrealistic but that is what makes it such a fun read. The dialogue is witty, delightfully raunchy and rather obscene. The situations Rena manages to find herself in are totally ridiculous but hysterically funny.

Rena is a charmingly flawed heroine and she has a heart of gold. The grannies are quirky but quite loveable. Rena’s love interest, Jack, is definitely swoonworthy. He does not blink an eye at Rena’s antics and he is so sexy! Evangeline, the villain of the story, is overblown, larger than life and I could not wait to see Rena take her down. She is the type of character that everyone loves to hate.

While How Hard Can It Be? is mainly a comedy, there is also some depth to the plot. It is a wonderful story about friendship and loyalty. There is an underlying theme of acceptance as some of the characters learn to embrace all aspects of their personalities. And of course, there is also a delectably steamy romance between Rena and Jack.

How Hard Can It Be? is one of those books you read for pure entertainment value. It is a fast-paced and zany romp that is as sweet as it is funny. I enjoyed every silly moment of it and I am very much looking forward to Robyn Peterman’s next book.
